Meet Fredericksburg’s New Parks, Recreation & Events Director: Jennifer Casarotti

Fredericksburg proudly announces the appointment of Jennifer Casarotti as the new Director of Parks, Recreation & Events (FPRE).

With over two decades of experience in both local and federal parks and recreation sectors, Casarotti is set to lead the city's parks, facilities, programs, and community events, ensuring they remain high-quality, inclusive, and welcoming for all residents.

Casarotti's journey in parks and recreation began with Spotsylvania Parks & Recreation.

She then advanced to a significant role at Headquarters Marine Corps, where she oversaw commercial recreation programs across global installations.

In this capacity, she managed operations exceeding $78 million, spearheaded business and strategic planning, directed construction projects, analyzed financials, and advocated for installation needs at the Department of Defense level.

Returning to Fredericksburg, Casarotti served as Superintendent of Leisure Services, where she built partnerships and expanded services for residents.

Her dedication and innovative approach led to her promotion as Assistant Director.

Following a competitive selection process that attracted numerous applicants and six external finalists, she was chosen to lead the department.

Under Casarotti's leadership, the community can anticipate continued momentum in delivering exceptional programs, maintaining well-kept parks, and enhancing customer experiences.

Additionally, she is committed to advancing the Parks Master Plan, aiming to further enrich Fredericksburg's recreational landscape.
